The Safe EP

 6. trains

Waiting for the doors to open up
To take her seat and leave the night
Shes sure there’s a new life out there
News she’ll not forget so easily
Hard to sleep comfortably
As her hands turn to whats growing inside

Boarding pass in a red coat
The right side by the angry note
That said, I don’t want you anymore

Hope you need
Love or so it seems
Faith is imagining, or saves us all

The stars remind her of a better life
Out the window of the cart she sighs
They look so very far from here
But she hopes that they’re looking down on her
They way they did as a little girl
When her dreams didn’t seem so far from here

Make believe, in a small town
Three kids and a white house
And a man who would never leave her side

Love you need
Faith or so it seems
Hope is imagining or it saves us all

Wakes up breaking heavily
The train stops in a cool breeze
Takes her things, its time to leave
So hide the tears and go outside
Pretend to live a different life
When everything seems so surreal

The midnight train, to out of here
The cold hard rain. The sturdy steel
Take me somewhere secure

Faith you need
Hope or so it seems
Love is imagining or it saves us all
